Leisure Book:
Isabella: The Warrior Queen
by Kirstin Downey

Mimi’s Thoughts:
This is a fascinating and well-researched account of Queen Isabella’s contributions during her reign in Spain. My history lessons downplayed and somewhat vilified Queen Isabella, yet more recent research indicates that she played a tremendous role, much to the positive, throughout her reign and helped shape much of the future of Spain, Europe, England and the New World.

Business or Finance Book:
Practicing Positive Leadership: Tools and Techniques That Create Extraordinary Results
by Kim Cameron

Mimi’s Thoughts:
Practicing Positive Leadership brings home the value of emphasizing the many strengths within a company to enhance a culture of overall positivity, collaboration and innovation.

Karlton Childress, CFP®

Business or Finance Book:
Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High
by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler

Karlton’s Thoughts:
This book did a good job of stressing the importance of having certain business conversations and how to approach these conversations.

Julie Fletcher, CFP®

Business or Finance Book:
The Seven Stages of Money Maturity: Understanding the Spirit and Value of Money in Your Life
by George Kinder

Julie’s Thoughts:
George Kinder’s book is a great read for anyone who is trying to find a deeper understanding of how and why we make financial decisions. This book may help you recognize old patterns or beliefs that you may not even have been aware of before reading.
