The dollar looks like it might weaken, Puerto Rico could have a political solution, and for the first time the Congressional Budget Office named the public federal government accounts holding 13.1 trillion dollars in debt — all topics covered this week. During the commentary, Larry said, “I’m also in the camp, along with several people, who think China is in a recession…” Listen in to hear what else Larry shared about China and the global economy in this week’s Inside the Economy with SH&J.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: October 12, 2015

The SH&J team kept Larry on his toes this week with a lot of interesting questions. Discussions arose over the stock markets, the dollar and CBO’s ten year Treasury outlook. Larry covered a lot of additional ground including minimum wage and upper-end staffing, the S&P 500, the dollar, and the TPP (Trans-Pacific-Partnership) which “kind-of passed this week.” It’s been a busy couple of weeks in the economy and Larry covered many important bases. Listen in to catch up on where the U.S. and global economy has been and where they might be headed.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: September 28, 2015

The U.S. GDP number adjusted up, Qatar opens a $35B investment fund in NYC and Larry names China as the cause of global slowing — all topics in this week’s Inside the Economy with SH&J. Larry also touches on the U.S. federal debt, impressive personal savings rates and the potential impact of a government shutdown. He ends his commentary by reminding us, while the markets may appear a little volatile, there is little volume and the trading is trying to generate some more activity. Listen in and share with your family and friends.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: September 14, 2015

This week Larry focuses much of his commentary on the U.S. Looking at new housing starts, the dollar, markets and corporate America, Larry says, “The U.S. economy, compared to everyone else, is doing so much better.” He also shares his perspective on the possibility of a rate increase by the Fed and answers a question from last week about the American banking system. Larry ends with a trip around the world to China, explaining how China’s decline has influenced the currencies of countries that rely on China for trade. Educational and informative as per usual — listen in now!

Inside the Economy with SH&J: August 31, 2015

Coming off of a week of some volatility in the markets, Larry addresses many of the concerns investors felt. Touching on the revised U.S. GDP, the S&P 500, and U.S. corporate profits, Larry shows how good the economy here looks. He also delves into the German economy and explains why it’s more important to the U.S. economy than China and wraps up with a prediction for the 2016 election. An educational week this week — encourage your friends and family to listen in!

Inside the Economy with SH&J: August 17, 2015

The S&P 500’s possible correction, the surprise of the Yuan’s devaluation and the Fed’s looming decision are all topics covered in this week’s Inside the Economy with SH&J. Larry also touches on the decline in mortgage delinquencies and overall consumer debt, and gives some commentary on student debt. Listen in and get up to speed on the U.S. and global economy.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: August 3, 2015

The U.S. GDP number was released and despite what the media might say, Larry thinks it’s a pretty good number. While the U.S. GDP is looking good, growth around the world has slowed and it doesn’t look like there will be an increase in consumer demand anytime soon. Larry also walks us through emerging markets such as South Korea and shares his thoughts on wages, new jobs, household assets and more in this week’s Inside the Economy with SH&J.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: July 20, 2015

The middle class isn’t growing, businesses are looking for a competent labor force and our ‘Greece next door’, Puerto Rico, can’t pay it’s $72B debt — all in this week’s Inside the Economy. Larry also covers the excitement in China’s markets, growth potential in Europe and touches on good news for Italy and France. While Larry may say there isn’t much excitement in the economy this week, a lot of worthwhile questions are raised by the SH&J team during the discussion. Listening in will bring you up to speed on many U.S. and global economic issues.

Inside the Economy with SH&J: June 22, 2015

2015 Medical Advocacy Client Event

On April 9, 2015, we hosted our second client event at The Cable Center, located on the University of Denver’s beautiful campus. As usual, our team selected a delicious array of drinks and appetizers for our attendees to enjoy before the presentation. Some of the favorites included spiced flank steak, Chile rubbed chicken skewers and apple crisp for dessert.

The topic of the evening was Medical Advocacy. As healthcare continues to change, having a partner to advocate for your care and the care of your loved ones is more important than ever. Our own Eileen Sharkey, CFP®, along with Janine Guillen, JD, MBA, LLM, RN from Anderson & Jahde, PC Law Offices gave a very detailed presentation full of tools and tips for effective medical advocacy. For those who were unable to attend, please find a video of Eileen and Janine’s presentation below.

Note: This is a large video file and may take a moment to load.

Throughout the video, you will hear Eileen refer to handouts which are available for download on our website here. If you would like a courtesy copy of the Medical Advocacy Starter Kit 101, please contact SH&J at 303.639.5100 or email Brittany with your name and address, and a copy will be mailed to you.
